Scott Brown, fighting for our future
Scott Brown is a proud husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong public servant.
He wore our nation’s uniform for nearly 40 years, served as a U.S. Senator, and represented America on the world stage as President Trump’s Ambassador to New Zealand and the Independent State of Samoa.
Scott had a challenging upbringing. His mom was married and divorced four times, and his dad was married and divorced three times. At times, the family relied on government assistance for food, and Scott moved 17 times before age 18.
Those early struggles taught him grit, resilience, the value of hard work, and to never quit no matter what the odds.
Scott graduated from Wakefield High School in 1977 then entered Tufts University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in history, graduating with cum laude honors, in 1981. At Tufts, he was the Co-Captain of the Varsity Basketball Team and garnered many honors upon graduation. He received a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 1985 and had a successful law practice.
Scott worked his way through college and law school, and at 19 he joined the Army National Guard after the Blizzard of 1978. He served for nearly 40 years before retiring as a Colonel.
But Scott never stopped serving. He won a historic U.S. Senate election in 2010. He became a grandfather four times, poured himself into his New Hampshire community, and later represented America as U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand and Independent State of Samoa, confirmed by the US Senate 94-4.
Today, when he's not busy campaigning, Scott coaches Varsity Girls basketball, competes in triathlons and performs in his band, Scott Brown and The Diplomats.
Scott is married to former WCVB News reporter Gail Huff. They have two daughters, Ayla, an American Idol semi-finalist, scholarship basketball player at Boston College, media personality and a successful singer/songwriter, and Arianna, a medical director at a Veterinary Hospital in Portsmouth and the lead verinarian in that practice. She is also a Member of the New Hampshire Veterinary Board, confirmed 5-0.
Scott and Gail treasure their 10 year old Yorkie, Gracie.
